Why Sacred Space?

The idea for Sacred Space Bonaire grew out of a desire to address something the founder had observed throughout her life—a disconnect between the necessary, everyday tasks that contribute to our well-being and the mindset with which we approach them. Growing up, she often saw house cleaners come in and out of her home. While the work they did was essential, it was clear that for many of them, the job was seen as nothing more than a burden—a

task to get through. There was little recognition of the opportunity within these moments for mindfulness, personal growth, or even joy.

At the same time, she became saddened by how modern culture increasingly views cleaning, organizing, and maintaining the home as mundane tasks to avoid or outsource. Yet these very tasks, when approached with care and presence, are crucial to our sense of well-being. They offer an opportunity to create order in our lives, to nurture our spaces, and to contribute to the health of both ourselves and the planet.

Driven by the idea that cleaning and home care could be something more—a circular process in which the planet, the service provider, and the customer all benefit—Sacred Space Bonaire was born.

At Sacred Space, we work with our employees not just to complete the task at hand but to find meaning and purpose in the process. We empower our team by teaching mindfulness techniques and offering skills that can be applied during cleaning. Every employee is provided with a free Spotify subscription, allowing them to listen to inspiring, meaningful content during work hours. By incorporating mindfulness into the act of cleaning, we aim to elevate this essential task, transforming it from a chore into an opportunity for personal growth and mental clarity.
